Raymond & Linda Rumours Rife at EEG Signing Celebration

With the success of "Heart of Greed", although their characters could not be together in the end, Raymond Lam and Linda Chung have recently been rumoured to have taken their romance off-screen. As Raymond signed officially with EEG yesterday, Linda did not avoid him at all and happily joined him on stage at the promotional event, holding hands and hugging as they sang their duet and maybe indicating strongly their underlying love.

For TVB artistes to extend love affairs beyond the screen is not unusual, after Moses Chan and Bernice Liu, Bosco Wong and Myolie Wu, then now there is Raymond and Linda. The reports suggest that the rather innocent Linda, who claims to have only had 3/4 of a love affair before, has moved the heart of Raymond who was in quick pursuit to be her chauffeur and finally winning her heart.

A special contract signing ceremony was held at the Dragon Centre yesterday for Raymond joining EEG and wearing an Armani outfit, he was supported by TVB executive Virginia Lok and EEG CEO Mr Ng Yu as well as rumoured girlfriend Linda. Linda's outfit matched his very well and when they sang their duet, he was happy to hold her hand and laughed that he was so nervous he had forgotten his lyrics. Even after their performance as they answered questions from the press, they still seemed to be totally wrapped with each other and it was a very loving scene. Linda revealed that her dress was chosen by Raymond and she had offered some Pat Sin Guo beforehand to help with his voice, showing how they were looking after each other. As for being suggested as being the 'lady of the house', Linda laughed: "No, I am just supporting Raymond! (Appearing as a couple?) As long as the viewers are happy, that is fine."

Asked if he has been generous whilst courting Linda, Raymond laughs: "She makes more than me! (Are you courting her?) Don't mess with me." He continues to look lovingly at Linda and says: "You have won it this time!" She then replied: "What are you saying? Stupid!" Linda insists that Raymond is her good friend and there is room for development, but only in the sequel to the show. However, Raymond is obviously interested in Linda and says she is very caring by giving him the preserved fruit: "Yes, it is very 'sweet'." It would seem that this Ray-Linda love affair has a chance to blossom after all!

Sherming Yiu Suffers Split Lip at "Green Grass" Promotion

Sunny Chan, Christine Ng, Sherming Yiu, Yuen Wah and Natalie Tong joined other cast members from new series "The Green Grass of Home" (aka "Love Comes from a Chance") yesterday to share an environmental message. They attended a Diamond Hill primary school, where they played games with the children who had to throw rubbish into the right buckets. Unfortunately, the children became a little over-excited and plastic bottles and aluminium cans went everywere, hitting Christine on the chest and leaving Sherming with a split lip. Afterwards, the cast members showed the children how to make organic compost from their leftovers and when Yuen Wah was about to put a pack in, one of the children called out to him: "You can't put it in with sauce!" Yuen Wah conceded obediently, showing that the children seem to know more than the adults on these matters!

As well as being hit by the rubbish, Christine was also knocked on the ear by Sunny's bucket, but she had a good time and said: "I have my own way of dealing with kids. I remember when I went to Thailand with some friends and there were eight or nine children at the airport who were pointing at me, so I said that if they could do 10 somersaults, I would nominate them for 'Minutes to Fame'. After doing that, they were too tired to mess about any more. However,I will not force myself to have children, just leave it to nature. After all, I have my godson Morten (Anita Yuen's son), so I am already very happy."

Shermng was asked about her injury and her lip was a little swollen. She smiled: "I never thought that children would be so strong, but I could not find the culprit." She says that children can get very over-excited when they are playing, for example her nine-year old brother broke their plasma TV when he was playing with guns at home. Fortunately she had just won a new 29-inch LCD TV, so it came in handy.

After the event, TVB arranged for the cast to go for lunch, but Sunny rushed away to look after his son. He says: "Children are so interesting!" He says that he feels that as this is their first time as parents, then he and his wife would like to spend more time with their son and they will still hold him even if he is asleep and give him their fingers to suck on. He laughs that this will help him build up his immune system.

"Heart of Greed" Cast Confirmed to Re-unite Next Year

TVB's "Heart of Greed" gained some good results for its finale and to thank the cast and crew, TVB held a special celebratory dinner in a hotel earlier. Those in attendance included Lee Si Kei, Ha Yu, Susanna Kwan, Michelle Yim, Moses Chan, Linda Chung, Tavia Yeung, Bosco Wong and Fala Chen. TVB General Manager Stephen Chan was also there to personally thank everyone.

There were 16 tables in all and the hotel gave TVB the special price of $2888 per table. Mr Chan led the speeches, firstly inviting Si Kei, Susanna and Ha Yu onto the stage for questions. First he asked Dai Bao whether he has been offered some good jobs? Ha Yu replied by thanking the company and Mr Chan. Susanna was then congratulated on her forthcoming concert and then Si Kei was asked if she is getting bored now. She says that she is not bored and with Ha Yu doing ads and Susanna singing, then there should be something in store for her. Despite the success of the show, producer Lau Ka Ho does not dare to be proud and says: "The reform is not yet complete, I still have to work hard and break through the 51 point mark." As for TVB Drama deputy director Catherine Tsang, she encourages everyone saying: "We cannot be short of everyone when we re-group in January."

They then celebrated with champagne with Catherine suggesting they should pour the champagne onto Moses's head. Moses and Linda then shared a drink together. A final farewell was then said to the show and Susanna sighed that it would be strange without the show. Asked if she felt sad, she says she will missit. Si Kei won 40 abalone in an earlier promotion and she will be sharing them with the crew later.

After Mr Chan revealed that he had been signed to do a hair replacement ad, Ha Yu was asked about this and he said happily: "I never imagined that my bald photos would bring me good news and I would be approached by a sponsor. However, I cannot reveal anything just yet. (Is the fee high?) It is six-figures and I am easily pleased. Originally I have over ten hairpieces at home worth about $10,000 each, but now I will save a lot of money."

Talking of Si Kei asking him for a part in his ad, will they work together? Ha Yu says he does not know yet and it is down to the sponsors to announce. He would like to work together with her,but he has not signed the contract yet nor received the money, so he is worried if he says too much they will withdraw the offer. Although "Heart" has been very popular, Ha Yu is still not content and he hopes that they can take the show to North America and China for Chinese people all over the world to enjoy.

Asked about wanting to join Ha Yu's ad, Si Kei says she was just joking, but she hopes to have a part in something, laughing that he hasn't got rid of her so easily. Si Kei is currently busy filming for "Jewel's Splendor", where she plays a very manipulative person, very different from Dai Kai. She says that she will be putting her heart into her new character. As for the daughter of her good friend Leung Siu Ling entering Miss Hong Kong, Si Kei says she has not seen Siu Ling for a long time, but her daughter is a good girl and has the potential to be Miss Hong Kong.

Si Kei, Susanna and Michelle took part yesterday in a promotional event for a Macau jewellers and modelled diamond jewellery worth $10 million. Asked if they had received such valuable jewellery before, Si Kei replied: "No, I just have to buy them myself, no-one will buy them for me." Susanna says: "Yes,but it was a long time ago." Susanna says that when she was on stage in her youth, she had already started collecting diamonds. Si Kei says that she bought her first diamond in 1977 when she spent $48,000, but when her mother told her that an apartment in Kowloon City only cost $50,000 then she regretted her purchase. However, with the good results from "Heart", she has bought herself a pair of diamond earrings to reward herself.

Miss Hong Kong Contestants Show off Martial Arts

The 16 Miss Hong Kong contestants were at the Beijing Physical Education University yesterday and after showing off her figure at the swimwear shoot yesterday, Number 2 Lily Ho Ngo Yee was the focus of the press after the official figures released by TVB were revealed for her as 5ft 5 ins tall, weight 119 lbs and measurements 33-24-35. Talking of the criticisms against her, she seemed a little teary and said: "I Will not intentionally lose weight, my health is more important and will eat more vegetables and less snacks. I do Latin dance regularly. (Are you worried about losing out on this?) No, it is about the whole picture." However, many netizens have been supportive of Lily, saying: "It is not a crime to have big hips, it proves she will be a good child-bearer."

After practising some Taekwondo, Number 9 Grace Wong Kwan Hing worked the hardest and guests Sammy Leung, Siu Yee and Chin Ka Lok all praised her. Ka Lok who was also a tutor indicated that he had the strongest impression of her and felt that she was very suited to a career in showbiz. Sammy laughed that many of the girls communicated in English and he felt like he had joined an 'English tour'. He says: "I can't even chat with them! Grace is very crazy and we have thought about changing her name from 'gracy' to 'crazy'."

As for the compliments, Grace says: "Everyone was working very hard and were very tired,so I wanted to raise everyone's spirits and when you are happy, you will smile more. I am interested in entering showbiz, but I am putting my heart into Miss Hong Kong and I would like to be the Goodwill Ambassador and Tourism Ambassador."

Miss Hong Kong Swimwear Shoot

The sixteen contestants for the 2007 Miss Hong Kong Pageant were filming at a Beijing hot spring part for their swimwear parade with special guest Chin Ka Lok yesterday. There was nothing outstanding about the girls figures and although most of them were quite well balanced, there were plenty of flaws. Among them, hot favourite Lily Ho may have good looks, but her wide shoulders, full bottom and thick hands showed up in her bikini. Although Cheng Wai Ching's buttocks are quite full, her bust is as flat as a mirror and she is very skinny, showing protruding ribs and collarbones. As for Wong Kwan Hing, her belly looks like she is three months pregnant. Chow Mei Yan seemingly has the best fiure, but her bust is a little lacking, unlike the girl with the fullest bust Lee Kit Ying, who is a 34C or D.

Maybe they are just not used to revealing their shoulders in public, but during filming, they were all covering themselves with towels and grasping hard onto them, afraid of them falling. Lily was also the only one to have a little skirt beneath her bikini bottoms, maybe to help hide her thighs. She says: "Maybe the designer felt this would suit me better. (You are grasping onto a towel, are you very nervous?) No, just that I do not wear a bikini much usually and it is quite unnatural walking down the pebbled path, but I felt my performance was ok. (Which part of your body needs improvement?) I feel my teeth are not white enough and I have some baby fat, but other than that I am quite balanced. (Are you worried about your focus being stolen?) I admire myself and admire others, sometimes you have to look at the whole figure and big is not best. (Have you asked for advice on enhancing your breasts?) I do not wish for enhanced breasts and the heavens are very fair, so no-one is perfect and so I still have to accept my shortcomings. (You do not think you are perfect enough?) No, I don't mean that, I hope that people will not dwell on my imperfections."

Lee Kit Ying puts her ample bust and toned muscles down to a regular regime of Taichi and Taekwondo. As for winning the limelight yesterday, does she feel that the others are giving her funny looks? She says: "No, they all usually compliment each other and there is no avoidance. (Will your confidence rise after today?) No, everyone has their own beauty and I do not stand out." As for Wong Kwan Hing, she puts her belly down to muscle, saying that she does a lot of sport. Is she worried about being overshadowed? She says that everyone has their own type of beauty and have balanced figures, so she has been doing sport with them all. Chow Mei Yan says her figure comes from her parents, so she will not be envious of Lee Kit Ying.

Chin Ka Lok will also be teaching the girls Taekwondo and Wushu. Meeting the girls for the first time yesterday, he feels that the standards are very good, with Wong Yin Yan looking like Joyce Chen and Wong Chung Yin looking like Linda Chung. They are all very easy on the eye. So what about figures? He says that they are all very balanced and big is not always best.

TVB Housewives Celebrate with Red Wine and Liver Pate

TVB series "The Family Link" has pulled in some good ratings and some of the cast mmbers in the show, Sheren Tang, Kiki Sheung, Al Wai and Cecilia Yip paid for a celebration at a French restaurant in Central with red wine and duck liver pate. Having previously complained about her role, Cecilia was in better spirits and was drinking away all night, getting so high that she was trying to get others to drink with her. She says she never imagined that the ratings would do so well and this is down to everyone's hard work and commitment to their work and also the teamwork shown. She hopes that there will be a sequel with the original team and go on to two or three series like the foreign shows.

The show has pulled in ratings averaging 34 points and peaking at 38 points. Kiki is very happy about this and jokes that she will be very happy if a sequel is filmed. "I hope that the company will film more series about normal citizens, because this will spark up conversation and people will be happy watching it. The story doesn't always have to be about arguing, you can have some warmth and reality in there." Kiki has won lots of opportunities to do more work thanks to the show's popularity. "I have received many jobs of openings and stage apperances, some are even in the golden week of July 1st. The fees are quite high, with one job being six figures, so if I get a few more of those, then I will have a seven figure sum! (You have made more money?) It's ok, it's a bonus."

Sheren's 'husband' Michael Tse was busy filming so he could not attend and she laughed: "Men are like that, he has to film and make money. I told him I would have a good time because John Chiang would be with me." As for Kiki's wish for a sequel, Sheren says: "It was very hard for me holding my daughters, so next time I would like to play a single person. Maybe a different genre would be more attractive for me." Talking of the rumours between Michael Miu and Charmaine Sheh that have emerged after filming for "The Drive of Life", Sheren laughs: "I joked with Michael today, when it is his birthday, I will team up with our 'daughter' Toby Leung to buy him a bunch of flowers for him. He says he has never even given her a flower, I don't think she has even had a grain of pollen."

Bosco and Kevin in Thailand

Bosco Wong and Kevin Cheng were in Thailand earlier promoting "Devil's Disciple" and recording the series theme song in Thai. On the five day trip, they had to be interviewed by the press, magazines, TV stations and radio stations and after lack of rest, Bosco fell ill. He says: "It was Michael Miu who passed me the germs because he was over there filming for the movie 'Brothers'. Meeting him out there, then of course we went for a meal, but he was ill and after the meal, I had a sore throat the following day and I was in so much pain I had to take some painkillers. They did not work though, so I went to see the doctor immediately after returning to Hong Kong."

Bosco was well prepared for singing the theme song with Kevin and Thai singer James. He says: "When I received the demo to the song, I had to work hard to learn all the lyrics, using Chinese, English and Japanese phonetics. Although it was hard work, but it was worth it because I have a Thai song now. (Did the producer accept it?) The producer was a Thai person and we recorded it line by line, so they had to correct us word by word, but they were very patient and although we had to record the phrase again if we made a mistake, it was good fun and certainly an experience."

Although this trip was very packed, Bosco and Kevin still took a little time out to go shopping and sunbathing. However, the weather there was very unstable and kept changing between rain and sun, so when they wanted to go sunbathing, as soon as they had taken their clothes off, the sky had clouded over. Bosco laughs: "I don't know if Uncle Sunshine was avoiding us! Haha!"

Tavia Yeung has Plenty of Work Thanks to "Heart of Greed"

Tavia Yeung took part in a limited edition mobile phone promotion yesterday wearing a sexy top that revealed her belly button. She smiles that as the weather is hot and humid, she has paid for ice cream for everyone. She says she is just a guest and not a spokesperson, but she was still presented with a new phone.

Thanks to the effect of "Heart of Greed", Tavia has had a lot of promotional work and after the watch show earlier, she is now selling phones. Although she has not calculated how much she has made, she still feels very happy and hopes that she will have even more sponsors, such as clothes, shoes and cars.

Asked if she would like to buy a sports car, Tavia says: "Sports cars are very mother-unfriendly, I am very welcoming to my mother, so I would like to buy a family car to drive my family around."

Having always kept her love life low profile, Tavia has been spotted on many occasions with a 'fat guy' boyfriend and a magazine has recently published photos of them out shopping again, but they kept their distance. She smiles: "To avoid people guessing, I always keep my distance from my male friends when we are out. (Is the fat guy your boyfriend?) No, just a male friend. (But you have been spotted together many times?) I only have a few friends and I will not alienate them to avoid being photographed. If I am in a stable relationship, then I do not mind revealing it, but for now my work is my priority . The company is very open and they will not stop me making friends or having normal social activity."

Ha Yu Welcomes Anita Yuen to Join his Series

'Dai Kai' Lee Si Kei, 'Sai Kai' Susanna Kwan and 'Dai Bao' Ha Yu were guests at a real estate promotion yesterday and a chef was on hand to cook up more abalone for them. Dai Kai and Sai Kai both fed it to Dai Bao in a very warming scene. Sai Kai then took the opportunity to flirt with Dai Bao and said: "Why don't you buy me an apartment? You have forgiven me already!" Dai Bao laughs that if he really did have $6 billion, then he would not mind buying one for her.

Talking of the finale of "Heart of Greed" being rather anticlimactic, Si Kei says that maybe everyone was too absorbed in it and wanted to know all the small details of what happened to everyone, but it was not possible to explain in much detail about everyone. Susanna also feels that people are missing the series and a happy ending was the best one. As for the suggestion that the original cast and crew have been fighting for the bigger roles in the new production, Si Kei says a little impatiently: "I can't keep up with you - one minute you say Dai Kai wins, then you say Sai Kai wins!" Ha Yu says they don't even know what they will be doing yet and they should let producer Lau Ka Ho have a rest. He just sees the gossip as a joke and will not take it to heart. As for the suggestion by Stephen Chan that Anita Yuen should join the cast for the new show, Ha Yu says excitedly: "Yes, she is pretty and a good actress. I like pretty girls, maybe I will be in Raymond Lam's part and she can be Sheung Joi Sum."

Ada Choi sees Wong Cho Lam as Ideal Marriage Partner

The Hong Kong Premiere for "Oceans 13" was held on Tuesday and as this film is yet to be released in the States, security was heightened to ensure that there were no cameras, phones or video recording equipment taken into the cinema and even guests were checked.

Many artistes attended, including once rumoured couple Wong Cho Lam and Ada Choi, who did not avoid each other at all. Ada was very complimentary of her good friend Cho Lam and says that their height difference is not an obstacle. She says he he has good looks and good education and is a very good person. She smiles that her good friends Monica Chan and Wan Yue Hung are both fighting against her for Cho Lam. She laughs that for two people to be together, the most important thing is to be able to communicate and if they are right, then they should get married because it is hard to find a good man nowadays. However, she says that they are just good friends and just joined up to watch the film.

Ada is currently filming for "Jewel's Splendor" and talking of the finale of "Heart of Greed" pulling in 48 points, she feels that it is a matter of the right time, place and people. Would she like her series to reach 48 points? Ada says you cannot compare it this way because her character this time is a breakthrough, even more than "Dance of Passion".

"War of In-Laws 2007" Costume Fitting

Liza Wang, Myolie Wu, Bosco Wong, Vivien Yeo, Suki Chui and Benz Hui took part in the costume fitting for new series "War of In-Laws 2007", but rumoured couple Myolie and Bosco did not seem to communicate much and Myolie preferred to chat with Vivien instead. When Benz introduced his character, he revealed that he has a 'tongue scene' with Liza, so he has been meeting up with her partner Lo Ka Ying to ask for tips on the best way to kiss Liza!

The show will centre around a fashion design company and Liza will be training Myolie to become a woman of taste. Although the company has already prepared a lot of outfits for Liza, she will also be bringing out some of her own items of clothing for good measure. As for the suggestions that this will be a copy of "The Devil Wears Prada", Liza says that only the background will be like the film. As for Benz's claims of kissing scenes, she says that it is only a 'kiss of life' scene. Liza says she will not put too much pressure on herself and just wants a slightly different portrayal of the character. When she saw the script for the first time, she found the lines to be very fast like the ancient version, so she has made suggestions in the hope that this can be amended accordingly. Asked if she felt that Bosco and Myolie are avoiding each other, she says she had not noticed and has no time to worry about them.

Myolie feels that the series is a little like the film, but the characters are different and she is not afraid of people saying it is a copy. She says she has some expectations for the show, so there is some pressure there. Is there a greater understanding working with Bosco again? She denies this and says: "We have not worked together for a while now, so we have to build up our understanding again. (Do you have kiss scenes with Bosco?) Don't know yet. (Is the feeling different having kiss scenes with Bosco?) There is nothing special about him." She is also worried about boring the viewers, so she would like to have rumours with someone else, but she will always put work as her first priority.

Bosco was unwell yesterday and as for her relationship in the show under threat from Vivien and Suki, he still chooses Myolie. Asked if he would be faithful to the end in real life, he says with conviction: "Yes." Then when he realised his mistake, he immediately clarified: "I am talking about the show. (Is it quite special to be working together again?) It's only happening because the viewers feel it is okay. (Is there a special understanding between you and Myolie?) There has always been an understanding because we have worked together before." As for Myolie's protective suggestion saying she would rather Vivien had the gossip, he smiles: "She is protecting a friend! (Protecting her boyfriend?) Protecting her friend. (Liza is supporting you and Myolie is protecting you?) We are a family and friends and they are both my good friends."

Kevin at Sporting Promotion Tells of Splitting Head Open

Kevin Cheng took part in the Po Leung Kuk Health Check Award Sceheme press event yesterday with Po Leung Kuk director Chan Siu Bo and wushu athlete Lee Fai Kwan. Kevin has always been a fan of sports and his favourite is playing tennis.

Kevin says that playing tennis helps him to reduce stress, but he was also part of a table tennis team when he was younger, then playing basketball in high school. However, he accidentally split his head open once and had to have seven stitches. He says that he is quite dumb really and that injury made him even dumber, so from then on, he changed his love to tennis instead. Has he invited Niki Chow to play with him? Kevin says he has been to play with a lot of people, not necessarily Niki. He says that he has never played with her and does not know if she can play. Asked why he doesn't teach her himself, he smiles that he is not good enough to do that. He also reveals that when he was in Thailand promoting "Devil's Disciple" with Bosco Wong, they recorded a Thai version of the theme song. He says that part of the song will become a telephone ringtone, but it is not an expletive, so he hopes people will not take it the wrong way.

Chan Siu Bo indicated that he has watched Kevin's series and feels that he is very good, otherwise he would not have been chosen as their spokesperson. Ms Chan also indicates that her health product has invited Gigi Lai to be their spokesperson, but as her brother has been involved in a road accident, then she understands Gigi is very troubled, so she just sent an SMS to her. She says she just knows that he can take fluids now and speak. She also urges everyone to remember to wear your seat belt when you travel on taxis.

Organic Farm Event for New Series

After the finale of "The Family Link", TVB will be airing new series "Love Comes from A Chance" [also translates as "Organic Love" - official title TBC). A group of cast members including Sunny Chan, Christine Ng, Yuen Wah, Akina Hong, Suki Chui and Kong Fai bore the heat and headed to an organic farm in Sai Kung for a promotion where they enjoyed the simple life.

Dressed in her sexy top, Akina was subjected to some close encounters with Kong Fai and she called out to the producer to help her out. Afterwards, she indicated that she did not know she would have to do some farming, so she just dressed in something cool. In the show, she plays a girl with a strong country accent, so there are a lot of jokes about this. She smiles: "My character likes to tell people to eat up quickly, but it sounds like 'shoot up quickly'."

Having recently become a father, Sunny says that his baby has just reached a month old. Asked if he will have any more children, he says: "Yes, no matter if they are girls or boys, I would like another two or three." Sunny says that during his wife's pregnancy, he has learned a lot of things, such as how to look after an expectant mother and also having to be patient with the baby. He also encourages his married friends to have children soon because having kids is very good fun.

Christine says that although this series was filmed in February and March, the location shots were still very sunny and her skin is as dark as a Filipino, so when she filmed the studio shots, the director insisted that she put more make up on. She will be partnering Alex Fong (Chung Shun) in July and as for rumours that this is a second hand job after Maggie Cheung turned it down, she says: "The company says it is not and I had been notified very early on. It does not matter who it was offered to before." In the new show, she will be playing an ugly girl.

Miss Hong Kong 2007 Filming in Tianjin

The sixteen Miss Hong Kong contestants have reached Tianjin for their location filming yesterday. The girls first visited the Liberation Bridge in the morning, where they released some balloons on which they had written their Olympic wishes. However, as the temperature there is around 37 degrees, the girls quickly rushed into the shade and hid under umbrellas upon their arrival to avoid being tanned.

Maybe due to the weather being too hot and the schedule being too packed, contestants 1 to 4 also had to shoot their profile pictures at a restaurant, so they were very tired when they returned to the hotel. When Number 2 Lily Ho was asked if she found it hard getting up so early in the morning, she syas that everyone had to meet up at 6:15 am, but maybe because it is just the first day, so she is not too tired. Howoever, she wanted an early night. Lily says this is her first trip to Tianjin and it felt good, but she never imagined it would be so hot. She also says that Rosa Chan is treating everyone well, giving them all a bottle of birds nest.

Number 14 Chiu Ka Dik's mother is from Tianjin, so her grandmother knows how to make a lot of Tianjin foods such as Zajiang noodles and Dalu noodles. As for her mother revealed as being veteran film star Leung Siu Ling, she says it was her friend who told her about this. Is her mother unhappy about this? She says she has not been in touch with her mother yet.

"Heart of Greed" Finale Reaches 48 Points

TVB series "Heart of Greed" aired its finale last week and a special banquet was arranged to mark the occasion. After a string of strong publicity, there were suggestions that ratings for the finale would break the ratings record held by "Jewel in the Palace" in 2005.

TVB announced the ratings results yesterday and the week averaged 40 points, with the finale averaging 44 points, watched by 2.87 million people. The finale peaked at the scene where Moses Chan's character 'Dak Dak Dei' proposed to Linda Chung's 'Sheung Joi Sum', where ratings points of 48 points were recorded, thats 3.1 million viewers. Although they did not break the record set by "Jewel", but equalled the 2003 record set by "Square Pegs", ranking itself in one of the highest rated series of recent years. To celebrate the success, TVB will be holding another celebratory party and says that it will not be filming a sequel, but the original cast will be regrouped for a completely new series of a different genre.

As for "The Family Link" starring Sheren Tang, Cecilia Yip and Kiki Sheung, it averaged 34 points last week, up 2 points from the week before as the ratings continue to rise. However, the Miss Hong Kong 2007 Pageant Interview Reality Show only managed ratings of 18 points on Saturday morning, just pulling in 1.18 million viewers, proving that the new concept of beauty pageants has not helped with the falling ratings for TVB's pageant in recent years.

Michael Tse's Cross-dressing Goes Down Well but Turns Down Ad Offers

TVB series "The Family Link" will be airing its finale this week and in order to resolve all the dangers to the family, the three 'husbands' in the show Michael Tse, Derek Kok and Al Wai presented their 'wives' with a special peace offering yesterday and allowed them to seek revenge, the ladies Sheren Tang, Cecilia Yip and Kiki Sheung subjected them to a walk down a pebble path, kneeling on a durian, putting a potty on their heads and then brushing their teeth with wasabi... all in the name of promotion.

The cast announced last weeks ratings averaging at 34 points and peaking at 40 points, proving to be the most popular series in the earlier 8:30 timeslot this year. TVB General Manager Stephen Chan was also there to suppor them, but there will not be any banquets for them as this is only a 20 episode series, just a celebration party. Will there be a sequel? Mr Chan hopes for something completely new.

When it was revealed that his argument scenes with Sheren that pulled in the most viewers, Michael indicated he is very happy and asked if he is confident of breaking the records set by "Heart of Greed", he says: "I have not thought about it. 'Heart' has captured the attentions of the viewers and is a rarity for the year." As for his cross-dressing being accepted well, with even offers of advertising contracts of him in his ladies clothing, he indicated that the company did not want him to do any ads with this image, so the job was declined even before a fee was discussed. He also does not really want people to accept him dressed as a woman. So how much would he do it for? He says: "I wish to make money with my male identity and not wearing a bra."

Kiki received two bunches of flowers and revealed that they were a gift from some online fans. She says happily: "I was very surprised. They are all university students and have been supporting me for a long time and they used cardboard to make a book for me with all my series info in it. Unfortunately I have never had the chance to meet them, but they always send me little gifts. This is the first time they have sent flowers. (Are you confident of beating the ratings for 'Heart' with your finale?) Yes. (But the public may be out and not watching?) I am not worried, it is a finale after all and I hope it will break the ratings set by 'Heart'."

Cecilia's acting is of award-winning calibre, but there have been criticisms that her acting in this show was exaggerated. She explains: "I acted it with the calmest of approaches, if that is still classed as exaggerated, then the boundaries seem to be quite wide. I don't mind though, everyone has their own opinions and the most important thing is that people are talking. She believes that the complaining netizens are favouring the other type of housewife, so they brand her character as dislikeable and bad, but she is only doing what a lot of normal people do.

As for a change to her normal role types for is she unhappy at playing the bad person in this show? Cecilia laughs that when she first heard she would be working with Sheren, she was very happy and she cherishes the opportunity, so even before she received the script, she accepted the role. Afterwards when she read the first four episodes and found that her character was so despicable, she discussed this with the producer, who told her not to be afraid, saying this would bring her to the attention of even more viewers, but she is still quite suspicious of his words. Asked if she feels cheated? She continues to smile: "No, I agreed to this project of my own accord and I had nothing to say as I had accepted. (Do you mind people disliking you?) No, just that this was different from my original understanding. I will look at the whole picture and it was good fun during filming. (Are you unhappy about the lack of screentime?) No, but I just feel misled about the character's direction."

Asked about whether she thought Cecilia's acting was exaggerated, Sheren says that they felt it was ok whilst they worked together. As for her lack of screentime, Sheren says that she will not have this problem because working with the children was hard work and she would rather have more time to sleep. Asked if she is afraid of being accused of being complacent? She smiles: "No,I do admire Cecilia and I remember in a scene where she and Fala Chen fell into the water, there were press there throughout the shoot. If that was me, I would be sour-faced because I would be worried about my make-up being washed away or revealing myself, but she worked very hard at it and was very professional, so I do admire her. I have met with this situation before, but my principle is the same as hers,if you have accepted a job, then you have to put your heart into it and work even harder to put it right. This is the more intelligent solution."

Producer Lam Chi Wah does not feel that Cecilia's character is dislikable and says that some people find her cute: "I feel that the screentime between the three ladies is very even and as for some people's reaction, this was unexpected, but it only reflects some of the viewers who are netizens and not other groups. (Did Cecilia ask to change the script?) We discussed it and I did make some changes for her, but everyone else did this too and not just her." He also revealed that the finale will feature Cecilia suffering from an STD and the situation will pull at people's sympathies, helping her image with them. Will there be a sequel? He says it depends on the audience response before they decide.

We have always been good friends and did not date or go out." She says that she is focussing on her work for now and the company has not prohibited her from dating.

Most of the girls have further or higher education standards. There were reports earlier that Lily's elder sister was involved in a an affair at the racetrack with a trainer, leading to his wife developing mental health problems, Lily was asked about this by reporters, but she was very frightened and said: "Let me ask the minder first." When the minder arrived, she answered the questions from the press and said denied the allegations, but said she has not seen the reports. Asked if she knows any people from the world of horse racing, she says she is only just 18, so she has never been to the racecourse and although her father likes the sport, she does not go with him and has never met any horse trainers. She also indicated she was very nervous meeting the press for the first time. Lily is currently studying law at the Hong Kong Institute of Further Education.

Number 10 Wong Yin Yan was earlier spotted sharing an umbrella with a man who had his arm around her waist as he accompanied her home. Does she feel this will affect her chances? She says she will go with the flow. Possibly due to wearing too much make up, Wai Ching's appearance does not seem to have improved after re-styling,but there were some successful outcomes. Among these were 6 Wong Wai Lam, who looked even more like Fala Chen in both figure and appearance after the makeover and also 12 Lee Kit Ying, who went from a 'housewife' look to a modern beauty.

Linda Chung is No Longer Just a Vase

Linda Chung joined supermodels Qi Qi and Rosemary at the opening of a fashion store and Linda indicated that at the finale celebration for "Heart of Greed", she was a little unhappy because the final episode was already available to watch on the net before it was aired,so she was worried about ratings being affected, however she cheered up when she saw how enthusiastic the fans were and was confident that the ratings will break the records. She also smiled: The audience can't detach itself from the show. (Could you?) I am used to filming now, so I detached myself very early on."

Thanks to the effect of "Heart", Linda has received a lot of offers of work and also become the target of the paparazzi. She says: "I know they have been photographing me out with my friends and I hope that you will not believe what they write about me in the future. (Are your friends male or female?) There are male and female. (Do you have any intimate actions?) No, and I am not dating either. I will continue to go out with my friends though and not let them affect my lifestyle." As for her work, Linda says that she is currently negotiating some ads and they will keep on coming. Asked if her income has risen, she says she is unclear, but the happiest thing for her is seeing the fruits of her hard work and sacrifice. "In the past, when my series were aired, then everyone would criticise me about my squeaky voice and poor acting, calling me a vase. I don't want to be just a vase, so I have worked hard to improve and it was shown when I filmed 'Heart'. I will be filming 'Golden Destiny' in the future, where I play a ruffian girl and I will play it very openly, so I hope people will give me more confidence."
