Raymond Lam Promotes "Face to Fate" in Taiwan

Raymond Lam was in Taiwan yesterday to promote the airing of "Face to Fate" on TVBS-G and to tie in with his 'doctor' character in the show, local celebrity Sha Sha dressed up as a nurse for the promotion holding a giant syringe to inject Raymond. He indicated that he was not afraid at all, laughing that he has never had any fear of needles and he actually likes the sensation of numbness after an injection in a slightly perverse way.

In the series, Raymond's character suffers from an 'early aging syndrome', so the organisers provided him with a pretty nurse for the event. This 'doctor and nurse' combination consists of an innocent man who has not dated for 8 years and a girl who has recently lost her love. Sha Sha reveals that she is particularly interested in sunshine youths, who have dark, radiant skin just like Raymond. After eight years without love, Raymond says that even his friends are worried about him turning gay. Asked how he deals with his natural urges as a young man, he smiles: "Men have their ways, if need be you go home and face the wall to overcome it." Talking of ideal partners, Raymond is very attracted to Taiwanese girls, especially those who look sweet, are not very intellegent and wears her hair in a ponytail.

Kenix Kwok Turns Down i-Cable Series After Finding co-star is Michelle Ye

i-Cable have been busy preparing to film their own 100 episode series that will be based around the story of a private tutor school king. They have spent a small fortune in attracting big names to the show including Eric Kot, Yu On On and Leung Si Ho. The female lead was always planned to belong to Kenix Kwok, who had verbally accepted the role, but there have been reports that she has suddenly withdrawn her agreement, supposedly after finding out that Michelle Ye has joined the cast and afraid that there is too much negative press around any project that she is involved in.

Kenix was interviewed on the phone regarding this yesterday and she says: "They did give me a script to look at and I had never agreed to do it. Frankie has also turned it down. I refused it for personal reasons. I have worked together with Michelle before in 'Reaching Out' and I made my decision based on the script and not on who my co-stars are." As for Michelle's manager, she made a statement saying: "i-Cable will have a press conference at the end of the month, let them talk about it! (Kenix left because of Michelle?) I don't know about that."

Miss Hong Kong Early Favourites Ousted

The 24 contestants for this years Miss Hong Kong contest took part in a special interview show earlier where the final 12 contestants were selected by a special panel of judges. Early favourites including the 'Gillian Chung Lookalike ' were eliminated.

The girls appeared in their own outfits and make up to take part in the event and wee subjected to the scrutiny of judges including Shirley Yeung, Tracy Ip, Joe Ma, William Tang and Lee Shing Chak and took part in events including a talent contest and question and answer in swimwear. Early favourite 'Gillian Chung Lookalike' Wong Ka Sin dressed in a youthful outfit and she seemed to win over the male judges showing her confidence in her beauty and height. However, the former Miss Hong Kong winners who were the female judges felt that she lost out due to her lack of height and 'unfriendly' attitude, which did not tie in with the Miss Hong Kong image. Cheung Wai Yee appeared in a sexy outfit, but the comments emerged that she she overdid the sexiness by doing a belly dance for the judges and with some rather raunchy photographs emerging of her, there were concerns about this affecting the image of the pageant.

Other early favourites including 'Gigi Lai Lookalike' Ho Ngo Yee, 'Ting Ting Lookalike' Wong Kwan Hung and 'Fala Chen Lookalike' Wong Wai Lam all gave excellent performances, impressed the judges and sailed through to the final. Asked for their selection criteria, Tracy indicated that she was looking for beauty and eloquence, Shirley says that she was looking for external and internal beauty, whilst Joe says that he was looking for a unique quality in his girls. After the event, they organised transport for the girls and Wong Ka Sin and Cheung Wai Yee left together. Wong went onto Mongkok to meet up with her 'Mini Mark Lui' boyfriend after dropping Cheung off.
