Sunny, Myolie and Ron at 'War and Destiny' Promotion

TVB series "War and Destiny" held a special lantern festival promotional event on Sunday evening at Shatin Park and cast members present included Sunny Chan, Myolie Wu, Ron Ng, Shek Sau and Charmaine Li. Playing games with the audience, the had to have a marshmallow eating race, after which Myolie exclaimed that she was very full, so she went on to feed Sunny and Ron with the skewer for the reporters to take photographs.

With it being the Chinese Valentines Day, did Myolie have a date? She smiles that she has a date with her lovers from the series, saying she is in no rush to find herself a valentine. Talking of this series marking the 70th Anniversary of the Rape of Nanjing, she says that some of the scenes were filmed on location in Nanjing itself. As for ratings, she says: "Let's just go with the flow." She also feels that this series is her representative series for the year. So is she confident of an award? Myolie says she has not thought about it.

For Sunny, who is soon to become a father, he knows that his wife Ada To is carrying a baby boy and he will become the proud father to a golden pig baby at the end of April or beginning of May. Asked if he has chosen a name yet, Sunny says he will leave this to the elders, but he remembers that last year on Mothers day, he said to his mother that he would give her a grandchild as a gift this year and he has fulfilled this promise. As for the government's pledge for tax cuts for parents, Sunny says he will benefit and he feels it is a good thing because it will encourage people to start a family because the population as a whole is starting to age.

However, Sunny feels that to have children at a more mature age is more interesting because something unusual will happen at home every day and his wife has been made very happy by his antics and has no emotional problems. Whenever Ada is unhappy, he will dance and if that doesn't work, then he will sing as well. With the reports that the maternity wards are at bursting point, Sunny admits he is a little worried about this, so he has already reserved a place for his wife in hospital. He also hopes to have two children within three years.

Ron's rumoured girlfriend Ella Koon was also in Shatin that evening, attending another event by Metro Radio at the same venue, but amid the rumours of their recent split, Ella seemed keen to avoid meeting Ron and rushed off after her performance.

Ella's event was at around 7pm and she was in high spirits. Asked why she was so happy, she would not reveal why. Asked if she knew that Ron was at the same venue, she refused to answer and simply wished everyone a happy lantern festival. As for whether she would go and support Ron, she said she had no plans to and she says she is very committed to her work, so after the show she will be heading home to study her script for the forthcoming filming of "Survivor's Law II". Asked if she felt emotional for the festival, she responded asking: "Why should I be emotional? (Because you are single?) I am enjoying my single life because I have my freedom." She says that Fiona Sit said earlier that it was very cheap to use her rumours as self-promotion, so she does not want to respond to the rumours. Ella was wearing a short skirt at the event and a male fan was spotted looking up her skirt. When she heard this, she was very angry and said that it was very perverted behaviour, but fortunately she had some black shorts on underneath, so she was not worried about revealing anything.

With Ron's event starting at 8pm nearby, maybe Ella was wary about being spotted with him, so she rushed off soon after her own performance. Ron arrived about fifteen minutes after Ron left and asked if he was disappointed at not seeing her, he said: "I don't think it is a disappointment, I had to rush over from filming, so I did not time things to avoid her intentionally." Asked if he was still in touch with Ella, Ron refused to answer, saying that he would not talk about anything aside from the truth and his work. When it was mentioned that Ella was quite happy, Ron indicated that he was also quite happy because he has finally finished filming for "ICAC Investigation". Asked if he had a date for the lantern festival, he says that he does not mind if he doesn't have a date because there are many full moon festivals in the year. He says he will be heading home after the event to have dinner with a lady, but this lady is his mother.

Alvina Almost Loses her Pants at TVB Sitcom Promo - Esther suffers Foot Trouble - Angela has Split from Boyfriend

TVB's new sitcom "Colleague Relationships" [translated title, official title to be confirmed] held a promotion yesterday at Causeway Bay's World Trade Centre yesterday, attended by Esther Kwan, Alvina Kong, Elaine Jin, Angela Tong, Stephen Au and Shek Sau in a very lively event. The cast had to act out the actions for 'handshake', 'hug' and 'massage' with each other to illustrate the kind of relationships that can happen in the office. However, when Stephen picked Alvina up, her trousers started slipping downwards and she had to grab them to avoid an embarrassing situation.

Alvina indicated that before the event, she had tightened her trousers up, but she had not planned on being picked up. When she felt that there was a draught on her waist, she knew that she was revealing her underwear. If she is working, she will always prepare her three 'treasures', that is shorts, a vest and pads, this is so that she does not have to get into the bus every time she needs to change. She smiles that as this was just a promotional event, she had not put her shorts on underneath and was not prepared this time.

As Esther has had to wear heels to film this series, this has resulted in an injury to her foot that has developed into an infection of the bone membrane. She says that after three days of office scenes, she can only describe it as a hardship, because her legs are too tired. She had wanted to replace her heels with a pair of platform soles, but she found it did not look right.

Esther says that in the past, she has rarely had to film wearing heels, but in this modern series, she has had to wear three inch heels for filming and the shoots last a full day at a time. This has resulted in an infection causing swelling in both of her feet and her doctor has advised her not to stand too much and to stop wearing high heels. Asked why she did not bring a seat on set, she says that she normally does when they are on location, but in the studio, she already has a lot of things to take in. She is now taking a pair of slippers in to change into. The doctor also suggested that she should soak her feet for five minutes in cold water and then five minutes in hot water and repeat it so she feels better when she gets home. Asked why she does not ask her husband Nick Cheung to give her a foot massage, she says that the doctor says not to massage the injury because it will become even more swollen. She adds that her working time is quite regular now, but she has less time with her daughter and since she started working again, she has not taken her daughter out at all.

Angela has a short haircut for the series as she will be playing a police officer. She reveals that she is still not used to the short hair. What does her boyfriend think of her haircut? Angela says that she has split up with her boyfriend now. Asked if she feels it is a shame after so many years together, she says that she had a good relationship with him and can still be friends. The split took place before the Chinese New Year and it was just an ordinary thing, so she does not want to make a big thing about it. So she is preparing to date again? Angela says she will leave it to fate.

TVB Stars Promote 'Prison Break' Season II

Koni Lui, Janet Chow, Matthew Ko, Charles Szeto, Martin Lau and Kiu Bo Bo were at a promotional event in Causeway Bay's World Trade Centre to mark the airing of the second season of America's hit series "Prison Break" on TVB Pearl. Matthew and Charles helped set the scene as they appeared wearing handcuffs.

Koni seemed to be suffering from an outbreak of spots and she explained that she had eaten too much fried and fatty foods at the new year and now she has to be careful of her diet and can only eat congee. Asked if she has put on weight, Koni says fortunately she has not. Asked if she has some romance it will make her skin better, she smiles that it is not related.

Kiu Bo Bo has been invited to many stage performances after appearing in the sitcom "Welcome to the House" and recent reports have suggested that he was dropped by a sponsor after arriving an hour late for a performance in Zhongshan. Bo Bo explains that he was in fact just 15 minutes late and not an hour, because he had to film beforehand and he had already warned the venue that he would be a little late and they had indicated that it was fine. He insists that nothing unhappy happened that day. He says he is still a newcomer, so he would not do these things. He hopes for more performances in the future, but he will also appear at old folks homes for charity performances.

Gregory and Shirley Share Romantic Date Dispelling Rumours of a Split

Gregory Lee and Shirley Yeung have been dating for four years and have been dogged by a string of negative press, with a tabloid magazine suggesting yesterday that Shirley has split up with Gregory after getting fed up of having to support him and the emergence of Steven Ma as a third party in their relationship. In response to this, Gregory says angrily: "They make me seem worse than a prostitute. Do they have to leave me jobless before they give up?" Although Gregory did not directly clarify the situation with Shirley, the couple were spotted yesterday sharing a romantic dinner.

Since the couple started dating, as Gregory is not as popular as his girlfriend, this has fuelled rumours that he is living off her income and that she is paying for his mortgage payments. This has led to Gregory experiencing insults from people when he goes out. Earlier the two of them decided to lower the profile on their relationship in the hope of the focus returning to their work, but they were still hounded by the press and when Shirley refused to talk about Gregory, this raises suspicions over whether they had split up. Some reports then exaggerated the story, suggesting that Shirley had dumped Gregory because she was tired of paying for him and branding him as a 'cheap male'.

In response to this unpleasant title, Gregory was very frustrated in a telephone interview yesterday: "I am really very angry this time. I don't mind them copying others saying we have split up, but they don't need to bring down my reputation to the ground, saying I am living off a woman and causing me to be scolded on the street. It is very hard to bear and I just want to be able to get on with my work. Now they are even calling me a 'cheap male' and making me sound worse than a prostitute. Then they say that I am in opposition with TVB, do they want to leave me without a job before they will let me go?"

As for Shirley, she has just returned to Hong Kong after her trip to Europe and at first, she did not want to say too much about the reports, just saying: "I don't want to comment on what is not true." but she could not help but support her boyfriend, saying: "We have not split up at all, we each have our own incomes and are financially independent. No-one is depending on the other, I hope that this will be the last time I talk about our relationship."

Gregory's mother Sze Ming was very upset at the names being given to her son and she felt that as a mother, then to see your son insulted in this way is very painful. She says: "I let go of my marriage and worked hard to raise my sons. I have not worked for a year now and the family is supported entirely by Gregory. His income is limited and at first when he found out I had no work, he told me to relax and enjoy the break. He is a good son and in making him so bad, are they out to destroy my family? My son will always be a good son and he will always treat his family and girlfriend with 100%."

As Gregory's father, Lee Ka Ding is also very irate at the slurs against his son. He says: "They are very loving and have not split up. The magazines are ridiculous and if I see a ghost, I am afraid for a moment, but when I see the reporters, I am even more scared. There has to be a bottom line when it comes to insults, but the government is powerless and cannot protect artistes."

Innocently pulled into the reports as the third party in the relationship, Steven feels that the magazine is making up wild stories and they are all fictional. He insists that after filming with Shirley in "A Change of Destiny", they have not been in proper contact now for four months. He admits that he does look out for this 'little sister', but their conversation is purely around their work and they never talk about relationships, so to suggest that Steven was co-ercing Shirley into splitting up with Gregory is majorly pointless. He has no plans to call Gregory to explain anything as he says: "If he believes that, then he is too gullible."

Gregory is a dedicated son and boyfriend and although he is angry about the reports, he is still putting his mother and girlfriend first. Yesterday evening, he and his twin brother Wing Hon joined their mother shopping in Festival Walk and they he went to IFC to meet Shirley for dinner. It would seem that this pair of 'troubled lovers' are braving the storm together and appearing even more loving than ever.
